Rita Brock-Perini retired from the US Dept of Health & Human Services, Center for Medicare & Medicaid, Regional Office, Atlanta, Ga., in 2003 following a 45 year career in military and civilian professional nursing in consulting , administrative and technical positions in the health care, legal and insurance industries. Her career has focused on positions in Clinical Nursing, Medical Malpractice Investigation, Risk Management, Federal Health Care Inspector & Federal Medicare & Medicaid Fraud Investigation.
Rita is a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Phoenix, Az. and she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Arizona State University, College of Nursing, and her certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant from the National Center for Paralegal Studies, Atlanta, Ga. Ms. Brock-Perini served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, Nurse Corps during the Vietnam War, and is a Charter member of the Women in Military Service to America.
Currently, she serves as Vice-President of the Veterans Medical Leadership Council, and has chaired the Heroes Luncheon Planning Committee from 2009 thru 2011. She was a 2007 Heroes Luncheon Honoree, and a 2007 Phoenix Veterans Day Parade Honorary Marshal representing the Vietnam Era. She has been a member of the Funds Distribution Committee from 2008 to the present. Ms. Brock-Perini Chaired the Committee to Honor Silvestre S. Herrera, WWII Medal of Honor Recipient, and was the Coordinator of the Dedication Ceremony renaming Third Street at Indian School Road, to S. Herrera Way, in 2009.
Ms. Brock-Perini is a Commissioner, with the Phoenix Military Veterans Commission, appointed by Phoenix Mayor, Phil Gordon in 2004, and also, serves as Judge Advocate for American Legion Post 41, Phoenix. Rita Brock-Perini is the Coordinator for the opening ceremonies of the Annual Arizona Military Women’s Conference sponsored by the Arizona Dept. of Veterans Services for 2010, 2011 & 2012.
